San Francisco is one of the most visited cities in the world. Now that you know about San Francisco and its major tourist attractions, lets plan an itinerary with some desi love. Start your day with a good breakfast either at the hotel or wherever you are staying. If you have access to a kitchen it is recommended to pack some picnic lunch like sandwiches, aloo puri, idli sambhar or whatever you can manage. Also pack some chai if possible. If you are not able to get food to take along, do not worry. There are a lot of Indian places to eat around most of the major tourist attractions.

First of all we will visit the Golden Gate Bridge. Follow the GPS or any other form of directions you have and cross the Golden Gate Bridge. There is a nice Vista point just after the bridge with enough parking and restrooms. Depending on how crowded it is you might want to first walk across the bridge or take some beautiful pictures with San Francisco city skyline as the backdrop. After clicking enough pictures of the bridge and the city, head back to the car and start driving towards Lombard street. It’s a steep ride but totally worth it. You can decide to either just drive your car on the crooked section of the street or park somewhere close by and climb the steps on the side. Drive through in the car is very amazing and highly recommended.

Now, head towards the Fisherman’s Wharf. Now, if you did not bring food and feel like eating Indian lunch, there are a bunch of Indian restaurants around. Eat at one of those places before parking for the pier, unless you plan to eat on the pier. Park your car in any parking lot around Pier 39. If you brought the picnic lunch, take it along and head towards pier 39. There are a lot of specialty food and other stores on the pier. There is also a Merry-go-around and a stage where shows are performed throughout the day. Find a good place to sit and eat your lunch. You could supplement the lunch with hot garlic fries and shakes. Enjoy your lunch and maybe have a hot chocolate or tea or coffee from Biscoff Coffee Corner too. Walk around the pier, go see the seals and if time permits take a short cruise of the bay.

After you are done enjoying the afternoon, head over towards Union Square. You have the option to leave your car here if you paid parking for the entire day and take cable car or Uber to Union square. There are quite a few nice stores around the square. You can shop for small trinkets to something big like a Ferrari! While shopping around, if you are craving for chai, there are some nice quick bites places too. I would save my appetite for a nice dinner at Amber Indian restaurant. After shopping and dinner, day is not complete without an ice cream sundae at Ghirardelli square. By this time, it’s already dark and the buildings are lit up and so are the bridges. If you feel like, walk towards the bay and enjoy the night views of the Golden Gate and the Bay Bridge. It’s something not to be missed. Well, it seems like you covered a lot for a day and now it’s time to head back to wherever you plans for the night are.
